The world of flight test engineering is built on pushing limits, testing boundaries, and managing risks. Whether in civilian or military aviation, every flight test program carries moments of triumph, challenges, and hard-earned lessons. This year, the 56th International Symposium of the Society of Flight Test Engineers (SFTE) embraces this reality with the theme:
“Risky Business: The Good, The Bad, The Ugly.”
Through compelling technical papers, case studies, and firsthand accounts, we invite members of the global flight test community to share their experiences—the successes, the setbacks, and the unexpected turns that define our industry.

Following up on a successful Symposium in 2018, the Coastal Empire Chapter looks forward to welcoming you back to Savannah for an unforgettable week of innovation, collaboration, and excellence in Flight Test.
The quality you have come to expect from previous Symposia will continue here with lessons learned from flight & systems test campaigns including case studies of challenges and successes in flight test and systems testing.
We hope to also share innovations in risk management, safety protocols, and test methodologies
The Symposium will feature the latest advancements in flight test technology and data analysis.
There will be opportunities to engage with attendees from leading aerospace companies and suppliers/vendors who will act as sponsors for this world-class event
We believe everyone should be able to access the lessons shared at this event. As a result, we will put special emphasis on the global availability of content.
Select sessions will be streamed live for remote attendees and virtual networking and discussion forums will be hosted.
While the technical sessions challenge minds, the symposium will also feature a lighter side with evening outings for attendees and their families to explore the best of Savannah.
Continue the discussions with late-night networking events in a relaxed setting
The Coastal Empire Chapter of SFTE is happy to invite the international community of testers to suggest ways to accommodate different languages and time zones. We have adopted the concept of "Symposium Anywhere" to put emphasis on inclusion and Global Reach

We believe everyone deserves an opportunity to share their experiences and technical/experiential background at the International Symposium level. As a result, we will not decline any technical paper based solely on its adherence or lack thereof, to the posted theme. Papers and presentations may be selected that meet the to-be-published guidelines and fit within the timeline of the event.
